DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that the Fresh Start WASH and Wellness Shower & Hygiene service is coming to the Orlando Public Library! 🧼 This service provides free mobile showers and bathroom facilities for those experiencing homelessness. The mobile hygiene unit includes four-bathroom stalls\, with one bathroom equipped with an ADA-compliant lift and a slightly larger space. Each guest is given a bath towel to use and return\, and a hygiene kit to keep. \nWhere: Orlando Public Library on Wall St. (the mobile unit will be park behind the library) \nWhen:  The 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through June 18 \nTo access the shower services\, guests will be asked for some demographic data and to follow a few rules of mutual respect. The free event is open to the public.   \nGuest speaker Kavita Sawh\, with the UCF Ginsburg Center for Inclusion and Community Engagement\, will explore everyday disability-related scenarios that participants may encounter in professional and social settings. The hourlong workshop will include real-world examples of accessibility challenges\, discussion-based learning and problem solving. The speaker will also cover inclusive strategies tailored to different disability experiences and practical applications for community leaders\, educators\, and event organizers.

DESCRIPTION:Free event and parking!  The Mental Health Association of Central Florida is hosting a Kickoff to Mental Health Awareness Month on May 1\, 2025. This FREE event will happen at Lake Eola Park from 7:15pm – 8:45pm. \nFree parking will be available directly across the street at 605 East Robinson Street. Once you arrive walk to the circular flagpole area featuring a monument in the center which depicts to a soldier. \nMore than 30 organizations have committed to participate\, which makes for not only a great celebratory event\, but also an amazing networking opportunity. \nMay 1st begins Mental Health Awareness Month.  It serves as a powerful reminder that our mental health is just as vital as our physical health and that everyone deserves access to compassionate\, equitable care.\n\nIf you are unable to attend consider making a donation to MHACF HERE
