DESCRIPTION:Is your new year’s resolution to get active? Now’s the time to crush those goals! Westly’s 7th Annual Virtual 5K is a great way to start. Let’s get moving together – virtually or in person! \nREGISTER HERE! \nHere’s how a virtual 5K works: register first\, then complete 3.1 miles between January 1-31 at your own pace\, wherever you like\, whenever you like. Want to bike the West Orange Trail? Sweet. Hike at Oakland Nature Preserve? Do it. Rollerblade around your neighborhood? We support you. If you want to break it up into segments\, by all means – go for it! Tell your family and friends\, because it’s open to all ages. \nWant to complete 3.1 miles in person with an awesome group? Join us on Saturday\, January 27 at the Healthy West Orange Fresh Start Zone at Oakland’s Heritage Day! Walk\, run\, or bike a 5K as a community. All ages\, strollers\, and even pups are welcome! The race will begin at the Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland\, with check-in at 8:30am\, warm-ups at 9:15am\, and race kick off at 9:30am.  \nStep 1:\nRegister for your free T-shirt and medal. Registration is now open HERE! We have received such a great response in our past few 5Ks\, that we are now giving prizes on a first come\, first serve basis. Sizes cannot be reserved ahead of time\, and quantities are limited. Participants are able to pick up prizes for members of their household only. \nStep 2:\nComplete your 5K virtually before January 31\, or in person at the Healthy West Orange Fresh Start Zone at Oakland’s Heritage Day on January 27. \nStep 3:\nShare your finish line photo or video with us via social media with #HealthyWestOrange\, #westlysvirtual5K and tag @healthywestorange\, or email westly@healthywestorange.org. \nT-Shirt & Medal Pick-up \nFor in-person event participants: Saturday\, January 27\, from 8:30am – 9:30am at the Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland. \nFor virtual participants: Saturday\, January 27 from 10:00am – 2:00pm at Speer Park in Oakland. \n*  Due to prizes being first come\, first serve\, we recommend attending the first opportunity for pickup on Saturday\, January 27 for the best chance of receiving your preferred T-shirt size and medal.
