We are powered by our “founding champions” — the West Orange Healthcare District, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital and the Observer Media Group — and a growing number of local businesses and organizations for whom a healthy community provides meaningful benefits, from healthier employees to greater quality of life.
West Orange Healthcare District
The West Orange Health Care District (WOHD) is an independent special health care district created in 1949 by the Florida Legislature and governed by a 16-member board appointed by the Governor of Florida. Since 2012, the District has awarded more than $130 million in local community grants to enhance residents’ health and wellness, with the goal of making West Orange County the healthiest community in the nation.
Grant funding is at the heart of the West Orange Healthcare District’s commitment to supporting healthy living in West Orange – the District consistently supports many West Orange non-profit organizations that provide healthcare services, education, wellness and prevention consistent with their mission of enhancing health and wellness in the West Orange Healthcare District.
