“Tell me and I’ll forget.  Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn.” -Ben Franklin

Did you know that right now, in a handful of schools in west Orange County, is a thriving school garden program?

The West Orange School Learning Garden Program is involving students in an imaginative program that gets students outside in an innovative, adult-supervised, student-led, learning experience.

Today, we’re highlighting this program at Tildenville Elementary, where students flourish in the garden and build their understanding of healthy living. Not only do they plant and grow veggies, they learn about the cycle of life in the butterfly tent, and cultivate friendships and habits that may last a lifetime. Schools, volunteers, and community support make this opportunity possible to help young minds grow.
