The 2026 Project Kid Connect backpack and school supply giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It will be hosted at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office South Lake District Office, located at 15855 SR 50, Clermont, FL. [1] Sponsored by Lake County Sheriff’s Charities, the event provides underprivileged local children with free backpacks loaded with essential classroom supplies to prepare them for the school year. Event Guidelines & Activities:

· Requirements: Children must be present and enrolled as Lake County students to receive a backpack.

· Availability: Supplies are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

· Family Fun: The morning features free food and drinks, family-friendly activities, and a Dunk-A-Deputy booth. [1]

How to Donate: If you would like to contribute school supplies for the drive, the Sheriff’s Office is acting as a drop-off location for new items (backpacks, notebooks, pencils, glue sticks, etc.). You can drop off donations at either the South Lake District Office in Clermont or the Main Office in Tavares, or shop via their Amazon Wish List.
