Eating Fresh Has Never Been Easier

It’s National Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Month, so we decided to celebrate eating fresh in our west Orange County. A true gem of our community, the Winter Garden Farmers Market, offers a vast array of fresh produce, from traditional to organic, and much of it from our local farms and farmers. In addition to the fresh produce, you can find a variety of specialty foods, plants, handcrafted personal care products, art, jewelry, and much more!

An Interconnected Community

The Winter Garden Farmers Market not only supports the idea of eating fresh locally, but it also has paved the way for those with an entrepreneurial spirit to set up shop. People like Greg and Maria Cusumano team up side by side every Saturday to offer fresh herbs straight from their garden and five varieties of hot boiled peanuts made fresh every Friday.

Advanced Beekeeper Paul Allison who has been producing honey for over 42 years, offers local honey and related products at his booth every Saturday as well. Abby’s Fresh Herbs, Uncle Greg’s Boiled Peanuts, and Allison’s Apiaries are just three of the many vendors that are part of the interconnected community of healthy advocates that are helping make the Healthy West Orange vision a reality.

The center of the market, under the sprawling oak tree, is a gathering point for live entertainment and music that carries throughout the market. The designated food court area is a great place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal from one of the many artisan food vendors. Between the live entertainment, amazing food, and fresh produce, the Winter Garden Farmers Market is a vibrant gathering place for the community.

Award Winning Farmers Market

The market has grown steadily over the years and now hosts up to 130 vendors and draws over 5,000 people on any given Saturday. The award winning Winter Garden Farmers Market is the largest community farmers market in the Southeast. It continues to be referred as “America’s Favorite Famers Market” with a growing crowd of locals and visitors over the past eight years.

Journey out to the Winter Garden Farmers Market next Saturday between 9:00am and 2:00pm at the Downtown Pavilion in Winter Garden. Whether you want to fly solo or bring the family, you’re sure to have some fun!
